Asset Development
The Foundation builds and maintains a pool of funds from many donors to provide a perpetual source of income to meet the charitable needs of our community.
The Greater Lake City Community Foundation was founded in 2012 with a seed grant from the J.A. Wedum Foundation. The GLCCF has focused the first years on raising money for an endowment. Our current funds are over $360,000! This is a tribute to the generous and supportive residents in our community.
Created by the community for the good of the community, the GLCCF is here to turn problems into opportunities through strategic grant making and initiatives created to address our region’s most pressing needs. We work with you to identify your charitable goals, and we ensure that they are carried out efficiently.
Work with us to make the kind of impact you want to see in your community. Let us take on the financial complexities and paperwork, while you focus on the important things like fostering good works throughout our community.
When you give to the Greater Lake City Community Foundation, you are making an investment that will benefit the community, now and in the future.
The Greater Lake City Community Foundation is able to do its work because it is a Minnesota nonprofit corporation that is classified as tax exempt under 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code and is funded through the charitable gifts given by people of the greater Lake City area. These monetary gifts grow to become the basis for charitable giving. The money earned in this permanent fund is given back to the community in the form of grants for specific areas of need.
IRS Form 990 is available for review on request.
